Company History and Background

Founded: 2011

Blakes Always Organic, trading as Blakes Organic Chocolate Ltd was set up in 2011. It was originally based in Tuam, Co. Galway, before moving to Kinvara, and then to Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim in 2014. Until recently it has been focused entirely on the importation and sale of Organic and Fairtrade chocolate bars, but in 2016 it did the Food Academy course as part of its launch of its Culture Blend whole bean Organic and Fairtrade Coffee. It is also working in conjunction with The Cheese Hub, which is owned by one of Blakes Directors, to produce organic dairy produce and launched its own kefir (Blakes Feel Good Kefir- Natural) later in 2016. It hopes to bring a Blueberry flavour online in the early part of 2017.
